NR has a very high tensile strength, elasticity, cold flexibility and excellent dynamic characteristics which in this combination can hardly be reached by synthetic elastomers and therefore make NR still today essential for some applications. Without the corresponding equipment with protective agents the ageing and ozone resistance is very low, and NR is not resistant to mineral oils and greases.
